Blackboard Sums

full notice on black .jpg

Blackboard Sums is a project where Primary School children in years 5 and 6 can have extra explanation, examples and practice at basic maths. Primary school teachers are fantastic, and do more for our youngsters than most of us know, but there are only so many hours in the day, and often too many children in the class.

I will teach the basics - multiplication tables, fractions, decimals, proportion - with lots of explanation, lots of repetition, and lots of practice, in the way that some of us were taught years ago - only without the shouting and the cane!

Parents & carers can help their children a lot - and if you'd like to improve your maths, you can come along for our grown-up sessions after the children's, providing you can keep an eye on your young ones at the same time.

And why am I doing this? Well not for the money, that's for sure! I'm keeping my prices as low as I can , so that most can afford it. And if you really can't - well, contact me privately and I'll see what I can do.

But if you want to know why, take a look at a paper I wrote a little while ago. It will let you know my thinking! You can read it here:
