The charges shown below are based on wordcount and are purely indicative. Please get in touch for a personal quote.

The final fees may vary, and will take into account:​:

• Number of additional edited versions required

• Transcriptions from formats other than Word

• Additional versions required, eg colour, large print 

• Additional choices of covers  (if publishing is required)

• Additional proof copies if changes are due to the author's ammendments

• Illustrations to be inserted, captions to be generated or aligned, and subsequent re-formatting **

 

It is expected that manuscripts are supplied as a single word document, emailed or supplied on a memory stick/flash drive, having been proof-read and self-edited as far as possible.* If this is not the case, then additional fees may be charged.

PROOF-READ ONLY (essays, articles & short prose only. Maximum 2,000 words)

​COPY EDITING (INCLUDING MOST ASPECTS OF LINE EDITING)

 £250 base rate, plus £3 per 1,000 words

[eg If your manuscript is 60,000 words long, copy editing will cost you £430]

A non-refundable deposit of between £50 and £100, will be requested, depending on the word count. eg For manuscripts under 50,000 the deposit will be £50, while those with a word count of between 50,000 and 120,00 words the deposit will be £100.

 

This will also serve as an assessment fee to determine whether Developmental Editing is recommended.

​** Insertion & formatting of photographs may be charged depending on the number of pictures. The charges will vary according to the number of photographs involved.

In general, unless there are particular difficulties:

0 - 5 pictures: no additional charge ​​

6 - 10 pictures: £10

11 - 20 picture: £20

up to 50 picture: £30

up to 100 pictures: £75

over 100 pictures: £100+
