don't regard myself as a poet. I've always felt much more at home writing prose in one form or another. Yet there are some things, and some feelings, I can only express in the form of a poem. I used to be intimidated by the thought of poetry, always feeling I wasn't good enough, didn't know enough, until a wise person said to me, 'If you say it's a poem, it's a poem. That's all you need to know.' The gates were opened wide, and I marched through!
